Welcome Message

It is my privilege to welcome you to the Anaesthesia Patient Safety Association (APSA), India. The practice of anaesthesia has advanced remarkably over the past few decades, yet the fundamental responsibility of every anaesthesiologist remains unchanged — to ensure the safety and wellbeing of every patient entrusted to our care.

The APSA, India has been established with the vision of fostering a culture of safety, vigilance, and continuous improvement in perioperative medicine across the country. Our mission is to promote evidence-based practices, encourage collaborative learning, and provide a platform for exchange of knowledge and innovation that directly enhances patient outcomes.

Through educational initiatives, research, simulation, and policy advocacy, we aim to support anaesthesiologists, intensivists, and perioperative care teams in addressing both emerging and long-standing challenges to patient safety. We strongly believe that improving systems, training, and awareness will translate into safer anaesthesia for every patient, every time.

I invite colleagues, institutions, and partners to join hands with APSA, India in this collective endeavour. Together, we can create a resilient safety culture that not only minimizes risks but also inspires confidence in our patients and the healthcare community.

On behalf of APSA, India, I thank you for your interest, participation, and commitment to this cause. Let us move forward with shared responsibility and a steadfast resolve — because patient safety is not optional, it is essential.

Dr. Sunil T Pandya
